TV Moment — TV series tracking app
This Privacy Policy explains what information the TV Moment mobile application (“TV Moment”, “the app”, “we”, “us”) collects, why we collect it, and how it is handled. TV Moment lets you search for TV series and track the shows and episodes you have watched.
TV Moment is an independently developed application for Android and iOS. For any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at hrosy.kusim@gmail.com.
When you first open the app, it automatically signs you in anonymously (via Supabase Anonymous Sign-In) and generates a random identifier. This identifier lets us store your watch list and keep it associated with your installation. It is not linked to your real-world identity, and no registration, name, email, or password is involved.
Associated with your anonymous identifier, we store:
If you use the “Import from TV Time” feature, the show and episode history contained in the TV Time data-export file you choose is uploaded to our backend, matched against our catalog, and stored against your anonymous identifier so your history is reflected in the app.
Show information is provided by the third-party TVMaze catalog API. When you search, your search query is sent to our backend and to TVMaze to return and cache results.
We use PostHog (EU-hosted) to understand how the app is used. We send product events such as: app opened and installed, screens viewed, searches performed (we record the length of the query and the number of results — not the text you typed), search results clicked, show details viewed, shows added, removed or archived, episodes and seasons marked watched, theme changed, and the app being shared. These events are associated with your anonymous identifier along with your platform (Android/iOS) and app version.
The PostHog SDK also collects standard technical information such as device model, operating-system version, app version, locale/time zone, and your IP address, from which an approximate (city-level) location may be derived. A configurable share of events may be sampled rather than sent in full. Backend request telemetry (which API route was called, the method and the response status) is also sent to PostHog without a personal profile and with geolocation disabled.
On Android we use Google Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics. If the app crashes, Crashlytics collects diagnostic data — device state, OS and app version, stack traces, and a Firebase-generated installation identifier — to help us diagnose and fix the problem. Firebase Analytics collects standard app-usage and device information. This data is processed by Google as described in the Firebase Privacy documentation.
We share data only with the processors needed to run the app:
| Provider | Purpose | Region |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database & anonymous authentication | EU (Paris, eu-west-3) |
| PostHog | Product analytics | EU cloud |
| Google Firebase | Crash reporting & analytics (Android) | Google infrastructure |
| TVMaze | TV catalog data | Third-party API |
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising or marketing.
Your watch-list data is retained for as long as your installation exists on our backend. Analytics and crash data are retained according to the default retention periods of PostHog and Firebase respectively. If you would like your stored data deleted, contact us at the address below and we will remove the records associated with your anonymous identifier.
TV Moment is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
